Through building FeedX we had found a small set of customers that wanted to buy cow feed to grow mushrooms.
Basically cows eat waste products from crop farming and so do mushrooms. ( Wheat and Wood byproducts )
These markets are very different, mushroom growers are more like B2C, so we set up a different website and charged more.
We hand mixed, bagged, and shipped substrates at a small warehouse in Madison, Wisconsin.
Some entrepreneurs from Canada liked what we where doing and bought it from us for 5 figures.
It was a nice way to make extra cash to keep FeedX alive but also a distraction ( or maybe a missed opportunity to pivot ) so we sold it.
